When your spouse is in the military, separations become a normal part of your relationship. Not only are there those dreaded deployments, but the countless trainings as well. TDYs, JRTC, NTC, FTXs.. With John having two of these trainings coming up in the not so distant future, we’ve really been savoring our time together.
When John is out in the field Soldiering, he’s typically gone for a couple of weeks at a time. While he’s out there, we typically communicate through text message. I send a good amount of photos and videos of our day to day activities along with random little messages to let him know I’m thinking about him. And since there isn’t WIFI or anything out there, we can blow through our cell phone data pretty quickly!
Having a cell plan with unlimited data helps us avoid any unexpected charges. For only $49.88 a month per line, the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan offers Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data, which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE data. With unlimited data, I’m free to send all the images I want without worrying about overages.
To go along with our plan, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime at Walmart for only $79.92. I was blown away by all of the great features that the phone had at such a great price! Downloading and installing apps, such as Facebook, was a breeze and will help keep the Mr. connected with the rest of the world, while he’s out roughing it.
Thanks to the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan, we also receive a free VUDU movie monthly. We’ve taken advantage of this movie time after the girls go to bed to just hang out and have grown-up time. One of my favorite treats to enjoy during this adult time is cookies and creme popcorn. I love the sweet and salty, chocolate and popcorn combo!
- 1 bag unpopped microwaveable popcorn, approximately 3 ounces
- 10 chocolate sandwich cookies (preferably double stuffed)
- Place your cookies into a plastic zip bag and grab a mallet.
- Start popping your popcorn in the microwave. While your popcorn is popping, smash those cookies up!
- When popcorn is done popping, immediately remove from microwave. Pour smashed cookies over the hot popcorn, and toss to combine.
- The popcorn needs to be hot, to help melt the frosting from the cookies.
