Wow, what a week it has been! I’ve had a sick kiddo at home and a computer that decided to not boot up after I attempted to upgrade it. I don’t know if I’ve ever been as excited about the weekend as I am today!
I’ve been using our backup desktop in the meantime, but it’s nowhere as convenient as the laptop. With the laptop, I type or edit photos in between meals or while the kids watch TV. We’ve got an appointment at the Apple Store for tomorrow and I’m hoping they can at least save the files from the MacBook Pro. I finally invested in an external hard drive, so I’ll be be backing things up way more frequently!
If you don’t have an external hard drive, I HIGHLY recommend getting one like yesterday! I got this one (affiliate link)! After extensive research, and learning that Mac products need external hard drives that are formatted for Mac computers, it was my top choice (there’s an identical PC version). It’s also sold at Walmart, but the 2TB was about $10 cheaper on Amazon.
2TBs! I don’t know if that’s a tetra or a terra or whatever. What I do know is that I did a TimeMachine backup to the disk and then also copy and pasted ALL of my files to the disk just to be sure, and I still have 1.82TBs left. For $70, I’ll consider that a win!
The highlight of this week has been our meal prep. I honestly had so much fun in the kitchen with John on Sunday. Having our breakfasts and lunches ready to eat and dinner mostly prepped has been a huge time saver!
While I suspect typical meal prep shouldn’t take too long, we put in about 5 hours in the kitchen. Altogether, we ended up with five breakfasts each, five lunches for me, and 10 lunches for John.
The new diet that we’re doing gives suggested eating times as well as portions. The most time consuming part for us was probably weighing and distributing the food to each box. As time goes on, we should get a bit faster. I’m not complaining though, because otherwise, we would have likely just been sitting on the couch. Now, we’ve got our healthy balanced meals ready to eat!
